Dr. Jacalyn McDowell graduated from Mount Royal University in June 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Literacy. She then graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, West campus, in September 2024. She graduated as the valedictorian and was inducted into the International Chiropractic Honor Society, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During her time at in Chiropractic College she served as a member of the Executive Team of Palmer West’s Sports Council. In her last year of chiropractic college, she became certified in Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FAKTR).
Growing up Dr. McDowell was a competitive fastpitch softball player and a recreational skier. A broken femur from a skiing accident then suffering a subsequent foot injury in softball are the reasons she became a chiropractor. A plateau in her healing journey brought her to chiropractic. The unique approach of treating the whole body as a functional system as compared to segmental structures was the inspiration that sparked her love and drive to become a chiropractor. Her unique treatment approach focuses on restoring proper functional movement through spinal manipulation, myofascial techniques such as cupping, IASTM, and simple restorative exercises. Patient education is a top priority for Dr. McDowell. She ensures every patient understands the purpose of her treatment.
